West Works

A-Z West Works support the general sustainability of A-Z West including access to collective resources for our local community and help generate income for artists local to the High Desert, where employment and means of financial support are limited.

The Studio Weavings are hand-woven by the community of artists who utilize the A-Z West Weaving Studio.  Each weaving is one of a kind; adhering to simple dictate determined by Zittel which is then interpreted by the individual weavers.

A-Z West Containers are handmade ceramic bowls that serve all eating and drinking functions. Andrea Zittel began using containers in daily life in the early 1990’s and they continue to serve as the sole dinnerware used at A-Z West. Large bowls are perfect for main meals, medium bowls for cereals, sides, or tea, and small bowls are just right for a cocktail.

Forthcoming West Works include A-Z West Covers—textiles woven in the A-Z West weaving studio that serve as anything from cloak to tablecloth—and A-Z West Corner—a simple abstract furniture edition.

West Works are currently available at the Whitney Museum Shop In New York and the Hammer Museum Store in Los Angeles where Zittel has curated the current pop-up shop, open through September 30, 2018.

A-Z West Containers are also available through our ONLINE STORE.
